Sarita Giri to contest election from Pradeep Giri’s constituency



KATHMANDU: Former lawmaker Sarita Giri has said that she may contest the election from the constituency of Pradeep Giri, the Nepali Congress lawmaker who passed away recently.

Sarita also said she has disassociated with the Nepal Sadbhavana Party.

“I want to announce that I am no longer with the Nepal Sadbhavana Party,” she has written on her Facebook.

According to her, she would contest the election from Pradeep Giri’s constituency – Siraha Constituency-1, in the upcoming November 20 election.

She belongs to Pradeep Giri’s family.

She said that in 2074, Pradeep can contest in Sirha-1, the constituency he won.

According to her, she left the Nepal Sadbhavana Party as per Pradeep Giri’s wish.

Sarita was removed as a lawmaker in 2076 BS after she tried to register an amendment motion in the parliament’s decision to revise the map of Nepal that included Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh.
