NEPSE gains 61.05 points after monetary policy released



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained a whopping 61.05 points on Sunday after monetary policy for the fiscal year 2022/23 was announced on Friday. The index had lost 27.26 points last Friday.

The intraday low of NEPSE index today remained the opening index of 2027.80 points and the intraday high was also the closing 2,078.51 points. The stock market gained 3.03 percent on Sunday.

A total of 6,423,156 shares of 219 companies traded hands via 42,931 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 2.73 billion. The turnover last Friday was Rs 1.44 billion.

Shares of Shivan Cements Limited traded the most today following by shares of Nepal Reinsurance Company.

Three companies gained the highest at positive circuit breaker level of 10 percent for the day. They are Central Finance Limited, Samriddhi Finance Company Limited and Multipurpose Finance Company Limited.

10% NMB DEBENTURE 2085 became the top loser of the day, after losing 1.52 percent today.

All sector indices closed green, “Finance” gained the highest 7.22 percent while “Mutual Fund” gained the least 1.16 percent.
