Three teenage girls found dead hanging from a tree



JHAPA: In an apparent case of a suicide pact, three teenage girls were found dead hanging from the same tree in Kechnkawal rural municipality 5 of Jhapa even as police continue to look for the reason behind the act.

Kalendra Prasad Singh Rajbanshi, chairman of the rural municipality, informed that their bodies were found hanging from a tree on the bank of Jing river in Sunkoshi tea garden.

According to District Police Office Jhapa spokesperson Basanta Pathak, the deceased are Karina, the 16-year-old daughter of local Pancham Ganesh; Anjali, the 17-year-old daughter of Puwalu Ganesh, and Kalpana, the 16-year-old daughter of Birwal Ganesh.

DSP Pathak informed that they had been missing since yesterday afternoon and were found hanging around 7.30 this morning.
