NBSM provides Nepal Standards certification to 50 products



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bureau of Standards & Metrology (NBSM) has provided the Nepal Standards Certification Marks to various 50 products.

The industries that have received the Marks in the current fiscal year, 2078/79 range from that of cement, TMT rod, paints, HDPE pipe, CPVC pipe, UPVC pipe and Jasmine hygiene products.

Lately, entrepreneurs have increased their faith in the Nepal Standards Certification Marks, said NBSM Director General Dina Nath Mishra.

“The number of companies that have applied for the certification has been increasing these years.”

Lately, there has been an increasing number of applications for the Marks for paint, cement and plastic pipe, he said.

The government has made it mandatory for 15 products, including cement, iron rod, LPG cylinder, regulator, gas pipe, GI wire and PVC cable to get the certification.

The Bureau provides the certification in line with the Nepal Standards (Certification Mark) Act, 2037 BS.
