NC’s Chiribabu re-elected Lalitpur metropolis mayor, UML’s Shakya becomes deputy mayor



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress’ mayoral candidate Chiribabu Maharjan has been re-elected the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

Maharjan received 42,948 votes against his nearest rival CPN-UML’s Harikrishna Byanjankar’s 23,993 votes.

As for the deputy mayor, UML candidate Manjali Shakya Bajracharya has been elected by defeating Baburaj Bajracharya of the CPN-Maoist Center.

Manjali got 24,561 votes while Baburaj got 17,536 votes.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is making a formal announcement shortly.
