Government to tax social networks including Facebook and Twitter



KATHMANDU: The government has said it will bring social media under the tax net from next year.

Announcing the policy and program for the fiscal year 2022/23 in a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament today, President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that social media will be brought under the tax net from next year.

Earlier, Nepali Congress (NC) had strongly protested against CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli-led government when the latter tried to introduce the provision to levy tax on the social media.
