Pashupatinath, Janakpur and Lumbini to be developed as religious tourism hub: President Bhandari



KATHMANDU: Holy shrines carrying religious, cultural and tourism significance like Pashupatinath, Janakpur and Lumbini will be developed as a hub for religious tourism, according to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Presenting the government’s annual policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23 in parliament today, President Bhandari shared that the government had adopted the policy to promote cultural tourism in the upcoming years.

Towards this, the new policy and program also includes constructing a grand museum featuring history, art, culture and other unique identities of the country, said President Bhandari.

The Great Himalayan Trail in Darchula and Taplegunj will be upgraded while an integrated program will be introduced to develop greater religious, cultural and tourism hub that incorporate Barahakhsettra, Chataradham, Ramdhuni and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, informed the Head of the State.
