NEA slashes fuel facility to staff

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has slashed fuel facilities it has been providing to its staff.

According to NEA, fuel facility to staff was cut at the directive of the Ministry of Energy to reduce fuel consumption.

The ministry directed all bodies concerned to reduce fuel consumption as per the direction given by the government, citing an increase in price of petroleum products, and pressure on foreign reserves.

As per the decision, employees who used to get 120 liters of monthly fuel facility will now get only 80 liters.

Similarly, those employees who took two-wheeler facility will be given 13 liters instead of 16 liters after 20 percent reduction.
