Kathmandu Metropolis: Balen crosses 50,000-mark; Sirjana following

KATHMANDU: Balen Shah, the independent candidate for the post of mayor in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), is maintaining the lead in the vote count.

According to the latest vote count updates, Shah received 50,030 votes. His nearest rival, Sirjana Singh of Nepali Congress (NC), polled 30,767 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML mayoral candidate Keshav Sthapit is trailing behind  with 19,263 votes than Shah.

Sthapit has got 30,015 votes.

A total of 150,516 votes for Kathmandu Metropolis have been counted so far.
