20 Chinese citizens arrested for overstaying, doing business on tourist visa



KATHMANDU: Twenty Chinese nationals have been arrested from Maharajgunj in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Director-General of the Department of Immigration Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and the Immigration Department arrested them on Saturday.

Police found that some of the arrested Chinese were living in Nepal even after the expiry of their visas. In addition, some of them were also found to be doing business while on tourist visas.

The arrested Chinese will be handed over to the Immigration Department for legal action, said SSP Basanta Kunwar of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
