UML, RPP finalize mayoral candidates in Kathmandu Metropolis



KATHMANDU: While CPN-UML has decided to field Keshav Sthapit as its candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is fielding actor Madan Das Shrestha.

A meeting of the UML Secretariat has finalized candidates for 5 metropolitan and 10 sub-metropolitan cities.

The party has decided to field Sunita Dangol as deputy mayor of Kathmandu.

Likewise, UML has also decided to field Harikrishna Byanjankar as mayor of Lalitpur and Manjali Shakya as deputy mayor.

Likewise, RPP has finalized the candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in four metropolitan cities.

According to RPP Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, the party has decided to nominate Binita Majgaiya as deputy mayor of Kathmandu.

Similarly, the party has decided to field Ashta Maharjan as mayor of Lalitpur and Swarnima Shakya as deputy mayor.
