FinMin Sharma in Parbat to evade discussions on MCC compact



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been called for 1 pm today to discuss the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

The agenda of the HoR meeting today is to hold discussions on the MCC grant compact signed between the Nepal government and America.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma is supposed to table the proposal of holding discussions on the MCC grant agreement.
However, Finance Minister Sharma is not in the Kathmandu Valley now. He is on a visit to Parbat at a time when he is scheduled to table the proposal.

Sharma left for Parbat to attend the 39th annual general meeting of the Parbat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.
He is not going to attend the House meeting today. He will visit the touristic places in and around Parbat after attending the annua general meeting.

The meeting has been scheduled to being at 11 am today.

CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have been under fire they decided to vote in favor of the MCC while remaining in the government.
