KATHMANDU: Banker Ratna Raj Bajracharya has suggested that the deposit should be limited into 5 percent to bring down the interest rate to a single digit.

Speaking at a program organized by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) on Wednesday, Bajracharya said the interest rate cannot be brought into a single digit at a time when Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) introduced a policy to increase the interest rate.

Bajracharya said the interest rate might go up to 12 percent in the Nepali month Chaitra. “And this might go up to even 15 percent if an immediate solution is not sought,” added he.
