HoR meeting taking place at 1 pm today

To discuss MCC



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor at 1 pm today.

A proposal on the agreement of grant reached between the Nepal government and the US aid agency, MCC, will be discussed in the meeting.

As per the tentative agendas published by the Parliament Secretariat, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma would present the proposal in the Parliament asking to hold discussions on MCC, according to Spokesperson at the Federal Parliament, Dr Rojnath Pande.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee before the HoR meeting. The Nepali Congress has on Wednesday directed its all lawmakers to compulsorily attend today’s HoR meeting.

General discussion would be held on MCC in today’s meeting as the government tabled the MCC compact in the Parliament on Sunday. Efforts are underway among the ruling coalition to make common view on the MCC.

Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu is scheduled to present the annual report of the Office of the Attorney General for the fiscal year, 2077/2078 BS.
