Fugitive convict arrested from Nepal-India border area



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested an escaped convict serving a life sentence at Dang’s Ghorahi Prison from the Nepal-India border area on Monday.

According to the District Police Office, Dang, Yamraj Pariyar, who escaped the prison on December 23, 2021, had been arrested. A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Dang, apprehended him from the Indian border area.

Escapee convict Pariyar was also the naike of prisoners at the jail. He had escaped while a police constable was taking him to the hospital for skin treatment on December 23. He had run away by stealing the motorcycle of the police constable.

Nike Pariyar had already served seven and a half years of his sentence in a murder case when he escaped.
