Prachanda proposes forming coalition govt under his leadership



KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has reiterated his stance that he should lead the new government at any cost.

Prachanda met with Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba after being elected as the leader of Maoist Center’s parliamentary on Thursday and proposed to form coalition government under his leadership.

Newly-elected Members of the House of Representatives took oath on Thursday.

After taking the oath, the Maoist Center held a meeting of the parliamentary party and elected Prachanda the unanimous party leader.

Prachanda is also likely to meet with PM Deuba today or tomorrow as well with the same proposal, a party source said.

NC, on the other had, has said that the new government would be led by Sher Bahadur Deuba, who was elected as the leader of the NC’s parliamentary party.
