KATHMANDU: China is sending Chen Song as its new ambassador to Nepal.
Chen is currently one of five Deputy Director Generals of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and oversees South Asian affairs.
Even though China has named Chen Song as ambassador to Nepal, it has not officially communicated with the Nepali side on the issue.
China has named its new ambassador a month after its Ambassador Hou Yanqi returned to Beijing after completing her four-year tenure in Kathmandu.
Sources said China is likely to announce its new ambassadors to India and Bangladesh as well in the near future.
