23 get injured in Nawalpur bus accident



NAWALPARASI: 23 people got injured when a bus heading towards Dhangadhi from Kathmandu met with an accident in Madhyabindu-11Nawalpur.

According to SP Santosh Pathak, 23 out of 50 people on the bus were injured when NA 7Kha 415 going from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi overturned on the right side of the road last night.

The injured were taken to Madhyabindu District Hospital for treatment and 18 of them were discharged after normal treatment.

Among the injured Prakash Sunar, Surkhet, Shyam Chaudhary, Kailali, Birendra Nepali, Kanchanpur, Santosh Bhatt, Kailali and Nirmala Joshi have been sent to the Old Medical College for further treatment, SP Pathak informed.

The bus driver has been taken into police custody.

Preliminary investigation show that the accident took place due to brake fail, the police said.
