Ruling parties endeavoring to narrow down differences on seat sharing even today

KATHMANDU: Despite holding regular meetings to thrash out the difference on the issue of allocation of seats in the November 20 elections, top leaders of the five ruling parties have failed to narrow down the differences.

The leaders are meeting today as well to finalize the issue of seat sharing among the five political parties.

Today’s meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar will discuss the issue of seat sharing among them.

The ruling parties could not finalize the allocation of the seats on Thursday.

“We are endeavoring to come to a consensus soon,” said senior leader of Unified Socialist, Jhalanath Khanal.

So far, the parties have agreed on one hundred plus seats, Khanal, who expressed the hope of narrowing down the differences on Friday, said.

The parties have been endeavoring to reach a consensus on the allocation of seats in the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly among them.

However, the leaders have not been able to thrash out the differences as they have remained adamant about their respective positions.
