Karnali Highway to remain closed for 36 hours



KARNALI: The Karnali Highway will be closed for 36 hours.

The highway is going to be closed to check the load capacity of the concrete bridge built on the Karnali Highway.

The highway will be blocked to check the load capacity of the concrete bridge built on the Ghatekhola River in Dailekh Aathbis Municipality-5 and the bridge constructed at Kalikot Narharinath Rural Municipality-8.

According to the letter from the Road Division Office, Jumla, the concrete bridge constructed at Ghattekhola will be closed for about 36 hours from 6 am on Tuesday, August 7 to check its load capacity.

Chief District Officer, District Administration Office, Kalikot, Ramhari Sharma said that the Karnali Highway will be blocked as Road Division Office, Jumla has said that mandatory bridge testing should be done.

Ganesh Prasad Koirala, Administrative Officer, District Administration Office, Dailekh, said that traffic on both sides of the highway will be closed and passenger vehicles have been ordered to manage accordingly.
