4.9 magnitude earthquake hits Pokhara



POKHARA: A 4.9 magnitude earthquake has hit Pokhara and surrounding areas in the wee hours today morning, according to the National Seismological Center.

The quake took place at 3.56 am with its epicenter at Dhampus of Machhapurchhare Rural Municipality-7 in Kaski district.

Shockwaves from the quake were felt in Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Tanahun districts, said the local people.

However, no details of losses caused by the quake have been reported, said ward chair of Dhampus, Baikuntha Bhandari.
