Punjab inflict 5-wicket defeat on Hyderabad in IPL match



KATHMANDU: Punjab Kings have defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in a match under the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Punjab clinched the win against Hyderabad after it reached the 158-run target set by the latter in 15.1 overs losing five wickets.

Liam Livingstone topped the score with 49 runs including two fours and five sixes off 22 balls for Punjab. Shikhar Dhawan hit 39 runs while Jonny Bairstow contributed 23 runs.

In reply, Fazalhaq Farooqi grabbed two wickets while Umran Malik, Jagadeesha Suchith and Washington Sundar took one wicket each.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Hyderabad notched up 157 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing eight wickets.

Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma topped the score with 43 runs followed by Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar with 26 and 25 runs, respectively.

In reply, Harpreet Brar and Nathan Ellis took three wickets each.
