KATHMANDU: Nepal has imported cheese balls, crisps and kurkure worth Rs. 580 million in first nine months of current fiscal year.
The data released by the customs department for the month of July-April shows that Rs. 580 million was spent on the import of these three items.
The department has informed that 1.293 million kilograms of cheese, crisps and kurkure have been imported in the last nine months.
The importers have paid Rs 366.40 million to the state for importing this commodity.
Cheese, crisps and tails are imported to Nepal from 12 countries of the world.
According to Department of Customs, these items are imported from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan, USA and UK.
