Nepali workers in Korea to get visa extended for a year



KATHMANDU: The Nepali migrant workers under the EPS scheme in South Korea have got their visa extended for one more year.

It has benefitted 77,000 Nepali workers. The visa of those working currently under the EPS system was getting expired this April.

Under the scheme, the workers get a visa for three years. With the expiry of this term, the workers and labour company can reach a new contract for the extension of the visa for one year and ten months.

The workers must return home after the completion of the first term.

The recent decision of one-year extension was made after the entry of new workers could not be eased despite the COVID-19 subsided in the recent time.
