Disability Protection Nepal supports Shankharapur



KATHMANDU: The Disability Protection Nepal has aided a laptop to Shankharapur municipality in Sankhu, Kathmandu.

Chairperson of the Disability Protection Nepal, Birodh Khatiwada handed over the laptop to Shankharapur municipality mayor Ramesh Napit.

Khatiwada said the support was arranged for the Women, Children and Senior Citizen Section of the municipality that has been working in disability sector.

Also on the occasion, Nirjala Chudal Adhikari, an employee serving in the section was handed over a letter of appreciation.

Surya Kumari Neupane of the Section said the person with disabilities should be active to assert their rights and welfare.

Neupane informed that the municipality had formulated a procedural guideline to implement the ‘deputy mayor with helpless people’ last year and provided the beneficiaries with support worth amounting to Rs 5,070.

According to the statistics, there are 254 persons with disabilities in the municipality.
