Prachanda leading with over 6,000 votes margin in Gorkha



GORKHA: Democratic-left alliance has continued leading the vote count in both constituencies of Gorkha district. Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is ahead with a wide margin of 9,526 votes while he is followed by Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Kabindra Burlakoti got 3,038 votes, according to latest update.

Dahal, a candidate on behalf of the ruling alliance fielded his candidacy under the House of Representatives from Gorkha constituency-2. CPN UML’s Abdus Salim Miya is following the count with 2,098 votes.

Similarly in constituency-1, Nepali Congress’ Rajendra Bajgain from the ruling alliance is leading with 3,162 votes against 936 votes received by Ram Sharan Basnet. Rastriya Swatantra Party is following the count with 137 votes. Vote count in both the constituencies is underway, said assistant election officer Gokarna Raj Panta.
