I’ll start preparation for parliamentary party election: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Newly-elected member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu-4 Gagan Thapa has said he would start preparations for the parliamentary party elections.

Addressing a program in his constituency soon after his victory on Tuesday, Thapa said, “I will start preparing for the parliamentary party election from today.”

Thapa said Nepali people have been looking for a “good driver” to drive the country forward.

“The driver that the people are looking for in with the Nepali Congress,” Thapa said adding, “Nepali Congress definitely needs to give new leadership.”

Thapa had earlier said he would fight for the post of the country’s Prime Minister.

For this, he said he would initiate the process for the parliamentary party election. The parliamentary party’s (PP) decision is crucial to elect a PP leader, who then can contest in the prime minister’s race in the parliament.
