EC appoints Chief Returning Officer and Returning Officers

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has appointed the Chief Returning Officers and the Returning Officers for the election to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly slated for November 20.

The EC has appointed the District Judges of 77 districts as Chief Returning Officers of the same district on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.

Likewise, gazette second-class officials under Judicial Service have been appointed as returning officers on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission in the remaining 88 constituencies.

The appointments were made as per the House of Representatives Member Election Act, 2074 and the Provincial Assembly Member Election Act, 2074.

The appointment made today will come into effect from coming September 27.
