Renu Dahal leads with 7,000 votes in Bharatpur



BHARATPUR: Common candidate for the ruling alliance for the post of Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Renu Dahal has taken a lead of 7,415 votes.

With 89,508 votes counted so far, she has received 35,098 votes while her nearest contender Bijay Subedi of CPN (UML) has got 27,683 votes.

Likewise, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 11,835 votes. Meanwhile, for the post of Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has taken the lead over Himla Gurung of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) by 15,426 votes.

Adhikari has received 37,326 votes while Gurung has garnered 21,900 votes.

The counting of votes of the May 13 election has been completed from wards 1 to 17 so far.

There are 29 wards in the metropolis municipality. A total of 127,839 votes were cast.
