MCA Nepal initiates implementation

Issues 35 days to vacate the acquired land



KATHMANDU: The US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has started its work in the field.

The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal Development Committee has issued notice to vacate the land acquired in Nuwakot within 35 days to build a substation under the project.

It has been requested to vacate the acquired land as construction work of 400 KV Ratmate substation has to be started.

“As the wiring work for the construction of substation has to be expedited as per the approved program on the acquired land, this information has been published with the request to vacate the acquired lands within 35 days from the date of publication of this notice,” the notice said.

The MCA stated that the compensation and rehabilitation assistance amount including the compensation for the acquired land has been fixed and the distribution and registration of the land has been done.

The notice also stated that the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Finance, Millennium Challenge Account Nepal Development Committee (MCA Nepal) has issued notice from District Administration Office, Nuwakot on various dates as per the Land Acquisition Act, 1977 to acquire the land required for the 400 KV Ratmate substation being constructed.

Compensation and rehabilitation assistance amounts have also been determined and its distribution and land records have been maintained.
