NC leader Singh bats for timely elections

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that local level elections should be held on time.

Speaking at the launch of Dr. Mita Singh’s book ‘The Struggle of Ganesh Man Singh’ in Kathmandu, on Saturday, NC leader Singh stressed that all three-tier elections should be held on time.

He reminded that a coalition was formed to restore democracy on track following the fall of the two-thirds majority government of the communists after they failed to respect the public mandate and treaded off-course.

“We should not erase from memory the events leading to the formation of this incumbent coalition government,” Singh said, adding, “Therefore, one of the most important tasks of this coalition government is to govern according to the spirit and letter of the constitution.”
