Political fever up in Singha Durbar as voting for NC’s PP leader election gets underway



KATHMANDU: Political fever has upped in Singha Durbar, the country’s main secretariat building, when temperature was dipping across the country of late.

With the Nepali Congress, the largest party in the federal parliament of Nepal, zooming in for picking its parliamentary party leader, political fever has abruptly increased in the Singha Durbar.

The political heat has been sensed in the country’s main political and administrative center since Sunday after the nomination of candidacies for parliamentary party leader in the Nepali Congress – which has the impressive history with arduous contributions to establish civic and political rights in Nepal.

The election which is taking place to choose parliamentary party leadership of the Nepali Congress has been taken with much interest and curiosity at home and abroad.

It is mainly because the election would be crucial in shaping up the future course of the country.

The electoral race between the Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and general-secretary Ggaan Thapa has been analyzed from different perspectives such as party’s internal life and external political contexts.

Voting is taking place for picking the new leadership in the parliamentary party of the NC in Singha Durbar.

It may be noted that President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called upon the political parties to present claim for a new Prime Minister within December 25.

With the President calling, the political parties have intensified their process for picking parliamentary party leaders.

NC has started consultations with other political parties as the largest party in the parliament for the formation of a new government.
