Election results: Who is leading?



KATHMANDU:  Counting of votes is underway throughout the country.

In the initial vote count of the election held on Sunday, Nepali Congress (NC) has taken the lead followed by CPN-UML so far.

NC is leading in 18 election constituencies followed by UML, which is leading in 15 constituencies.

Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is in the third position with seven leads.

Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Janmat Party are leading in three constituencies each.

The Maoist Center is leading in two constituencies.

Meanwhile, in Kathmandu Constituency-4, NC’s Gagan Kumar Thapa is leading with 3490 votes. His closest contender UML’s Rajan Bhattarai has got 2715 votes.

Likewise, in Kathmandu-1, RPP’s Rabindra Mishra is leading with 2413 votes followed by NC’s Prakash Man Singh with 2302 votes.

Similarly, in Laitpur 3, Dr. Toshima Karki of Rastriya Swatantra Party is leding with 1608 votes followed by UML’s Amrti Khadka with 1519 votes.

Similarly, in Jhapa-3, RPP’s Rajendra Lingden is leading with 1220 votes followed by NC’s Krishna Sitaula with 957 votes.

Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Sobita Gautam has maintained an early lead in the counting of votes in Kathmandu Constituency-2.

Gautam has got 124 votes so far while her closest contender CPN-UML’s Maniram Phuyal has received 84 votes.
