Vote count in Makawanpur constituency 2 to start from 11 am



KATHMANDU: Preparations are afoot for the counting of votes in Makawanpur constituency 2.

Election Officer Mukunda Hari Paudel said an all-party meeting has been concluded and the counting of votes is set to start from 11 am.

According to him, counting of votes will be done at Siddhartha High School located in Hetaunda Sub-metropolitan City-2.

The counting of first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional votes of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly will be done simultaneously.

Assistant Election Officer Tirtharaj Bhattarai said that preparations were made to count votes at 10 different places.

Wire mesh and CCTV cameras have been installed to secure the places where counting is to be done. He claimed that all the results would be available within a week.

An information desk has been arranged to relay information about counting of votes.

According to Election Officer Poudel, an official person will be appointed to inform about the results of the vote count and the information will be transmitted only through the ‘One Door System’.

In Makawanpur 2, major contenders are Mahesh Bartaula from CPN-UML, Birodh Khatiwada from United Socialist Party, Rajan Mainali from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Bharat Parajuli from Rastriya Swotantra Party.
