NEPSE witnesses a rise by 11.22 points on Wednesday



KATHMANDU:  Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which had been declining continuously with the Nepal Bankers Association’s decision to increase the deposit interest rate from September 17, has shown a correction on Wednesday and increased by 11.22 points to close at 1848.82 points today.

On Wednesday, the market index NEPSE increased by 0.61 percent while all sub-indices increased except the mutual fund sub-index. The mutual fund decreased by 0.44 percent.

Despite the improvement in NEPSE, the turnover decreased on Wednesday. It was limited to 721.3 million. The trading amount is the lowest since the bullish trend started in NEPSE after COVID 19 outbreak.

While Nabil Bank had the highest turnover of 33.38 million on NEPSE on Wednesday, Ridi Hydropower had a turnover of 24.1 million. During the trading period, 187 companies’ shares were traded. 142 companies’ share prices increased, while 38 companies decreased. The share price of seven companies is stable.

The share price of Samling Power Company increased by 10 percent, whereas the Summit Microfinance increased by 5.73 percent today. Similarly, the share price of Win Nepal Microfinance decreased by 3.63 percent when the unit price of Nabil Balance Fund 2 decreased by 3.40 percent on Wednesday.
