Government failed to control dengue: UML

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has criticized the five-party government for failing to prevent and control dengue.

Yogesh Bhattarai, head of UML’s health and population department, issued a statement today saying that the government has failed to prevent dengue despite its spread.

According to the party, as many as 21 people have died of dengue across the country and 75 cases have been detected in 75 districts.

Dengue has spread among the common people even in Kathmandu, it said, adding that a situation of panic has been created in the general public.

Bhattarai said that the government paid no attention to the control and treatment of dengue.

“There are no beds for patients in health institutions. Thousands of patients are forced to stay at home due to the lack of health check-ups,” the statement said.
