ANFA’s executive committee meeting postpones

KATHMANDU: The second executive committee meeting of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) that was scheduled for Thursday has been again postponed following a disagreement among its office bearers.

The meeting could not take place after the ANFA office bearers, including its senior vice president Bir Bahadur Khadka remained absent, it has been said.

The ANFA’s 12 office bearers including Khadka and vice presidents Birat Jung Shahi and Dipak Khatiwada have been protesting the appointment of Nabin Pandey to the Chief of the International Relations of the ANFA by the first meeting of its executive committee.

The dissenting faction is terming the appointment against the ANFA’s statute while demanding its scrap.

The meeting was expected to take a decision on the issue of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022 taking place in Nepal from August 29 and the appointment of ANFA’s spokesperson, chief executive officer and three joint general secretaries.
