Janardhan Sharma refutes intrusion of unauthorized persons while making budget

KATHMANDU: Former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma claimed that there was no intrusion of unauthorized persons into the Ministry of Finance while making the budget.

The then finance minister Sharma, who reached Singh Darbar to furnish his statement to the parliamentary committee, claimed that there was no possibility of outsiders entering the finance ministry as reported by the media.

“It can be easily figured out who entered the Ministry or who left it,” he said.

Sharma said that a minister does not know how long the CCTV footage will be stored.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary inquiry committee formed to investigate former finance minister Janardhan Sharma, who was accused of allowing unauthorized persons while preparing the fiscal budget, has demanded an extension of the deadline.

Committee Secretary Surendra Aryal informed that a request will be made to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota for more time.

In a brief response to journalists, former Finance Minister Sharma said, “I have responded to their queries. The rest is their decision.”
