KATHMANDU: Youths held a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Saturday demanding justice for the victim and action against the perpetrator of a rape incident recently made public through social media.
A young woman made a shocking revelation on social media that she had been raped at a hotel by one of the event organizers while participating in the Miss Global International pageant held eight years ago and continued the exploitation for long since then.
Demonstrators chanted slogans calling for removal of provision of deadline for filing complaints of rape and other sexual violence incidents, and stern action against the perpetrator and justice for the victim.
The youths drew the attention of the government to initiate quick investigation in this regard.
The youths in the country are enraged after the victim revealed the incident through a series of videos from social media Tiktok on Wednesday and via Instagram on Thursday.
