GUJARAT: UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday visited Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad and tried his hand at spinning the charkha, India Today has reported.
In the visitors’ book at Mahatma Gandhi’s ashram, Boris Johnson left a note. He wrote, “It is an immense privilege to come to the ashram of this extraordinary man and to understand how he mobilized such simple principles of truth and non-violence to change the world for the better.”
The British Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to India to strengthen bilateral ties.
He will leave for Delhi in the evening. He will hold extensive talks with PM Narendra Modi on Friday.
