Secretariat meeting of Unified Socialist postponed till Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the CPN-Unified Socialist has been postponed until Tuesday. The meeting called at 1 pm was postponed.

A Standing Committee meeting of the party held Saturday gave the Secretariat the power to make further decisions on the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). However, the meeting of the Secretariat called for today was postponed after Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Respected Leader Jhala Nath Khanal engaged in further discussions on MCC.

Former Prime Minister Khanal had protested when MCC was tabled in the parliament on Sunday. He had said the party had not decided to allow MCC to be introduced in House.

The government on Sunday had tabled MCC in parliament with the consent of Unified Socialist Chair Nepal.
