KATHMANDU: The Working-journalists Association of Nepal has demanded a probe into Civil Hospital’s negligence to treat journalist LB Bishwakarma.
Dissatisfied with the conduct of Civil Hospital, the Working-journalists Association drew the attention of the hospital’s administration through a statement Friday.
The association, recalling that the journalist was denied treatment and returned home, demanded an investigation into the incident. “We demand an investigation into the incident and strict action against the guilty,” the statement read.
“If the victim is not compensated, then the Working-journalists Association will hold a sit-in at the hospital’s gate,” said Janmadev Jaishi, president of the association.
Civil Hospital’s Director Bidhan Nidhi Poudel, who is currently in isolation after contracting COVID19, via phone directed Dr. Anuj Jung Rayamajhi to take initiative for necessary action after holding dialogue with both the victim’s side and hospital employees.
The hospital administration pledged to dispense justice after holding a tripartite meeting among the representatives of the association, victim and the management of the hospital on Sunday.
