Orders action against Nobel Medical college operators



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the District Administration Office, Morang to take action against the operator of Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar for charging higher fees from students.

According to Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashi Raj Dahal, Ministry of Home has written a letter to his office asking him to take action against the medical college operators who charge more than the stipulated fee and file a case against the fraudsters.

“We have received a letter from Home Ministry to take action against the authorities not abiding by the government directives and regulations,” CDO Dahal said, “We have asked the students and parents who are compelled to pay ‘undue’ fee to file a complaint at ours. We will take action after investigation.”

Writing a letter on Thursday Home Ministry instructed to take action against the medical colleges which have levied undue fee on the students.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the local administration to take action against those who cheated students by demanding necessary documents.

Dr. Sunil Sharma is the director of Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar.

Medical students including those enrolled in Nobel Medical College, Kathmandu Medical College among others have been protesting against the colleges accusing them of charging the students more fee than the one consented by Medical Education Commission.

Earlier, in a meeting held at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Sharma had written note of dissent against the agreement to return the excess fee the colleges took from the students.

Ministry of Education had organized the meeting of the stakeholders including the agitating students, their parents, medical college operators and the government officials.
