Ruling coalition holding meeting today

To finalize election date

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition is holding a meeting to discuss upcoming elections today.

The meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar at 4 pm today will dwell on elections which one is to be held first – local or federal.

According to Ramesh Malla, the personal secretary of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda, the ruling coalition will dwell on the upcoming elections including contemporary issues.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been saying that the local elections be held in mid-April to mid-May while Prachanda and Nepal are in favor of federal elections prior to the local elections.

The meeting of the political coordination committee scheduled for Thursday was deferred after top leaders did not strike a deal on it.

Following the deferral of the meeting, leaders Deuba, Prachanda and Nepal held a meeting on Thursday evening and called the meeting of the political coordination committee at 4 pm.
