General Secretary Thapa should unanimously vote for party President Deuba:  NC Spokesperson Mahat



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that all NC leaders in the parliament should be unanimous in favor of  Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s selection to the post of parliamentary party (PP) leader.

Speaking to the media persons after PM Deuba’s candidacy nomination to the post of PP leader, NC spokesperson Mahat said that Deuba’s leadership is necessary to take the five-party coalition ahead.

Stating that PM Deuba successfully completed all three levels of elections by protecting the parliament and leading the coalition, he said that a new government should be formed under the leadership of Deuba for the dynamism of the coalition and the prosperity of the country.

Dr. Mahat also said that the parties will soon decide on the next prime minister. “We are in a coalition. There are different parties. Everyone wants to be in power,” he said.

He said that the candidate for the Prime Minister will be decided by December 25th.

The NC spokesperson added that party President Deuba will unite the party as they need leadership to unite the country.

NC will hold an election to select the PP leader on Wednesday.
