Democratic-left alliance will continue for long: Prachanda

GORKHA: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reiterated that the present democratic-left alliance would continue for long.

Stating that all parties in the coalition have come together on the issue of continuing the alliance for long, he said, “This alliance will continue whatever the alliance partner leads the next government.”

Talking to the media in Gorkha district this afternoon, he said the issue of government leadership from the coalition partner has not yet been discussed among the alliance partners. He reached Gorkha district after casting his vote in his home district, Chitwan.

It may be noted that Dahal is running from Gorkha constituency in the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly.

The polls different from the previous ones could be taken as a referendum and a competition between the force that time and again attacked the constitution, and the one that wanted to pursue the journey of development and prosperity while safeguarding the constitution, he said.

On the occasion, he observed polling centers at Palungtar Municipality-2, Badadanda, and Chhepetar, Birinchowk, Terhakilo and Kundurtar in Gorkha Municipality.
