Voting halted as shots fired in Darchula polling station



DARCHULA: Shot were fired in the air at Shailyashikhar Municipality-5 Malikarjun school Gwani Bagaura polling station in Darchula.

Voting has stopped after the aerial fire and efforts are underway to resume voting again.

A woman got hit on the head by a security personnel’s baton as a dispute arose after one of the voters’ vote was found to be already cast.

Security personnel had to fire 3 rounds in the air, the police said, after irate local residents began pelting stones after a vote was found already cast.
