NLC calls for application from landless people in Baitadi



BAITADI: The National Land Commission has called for application from the landless people in Baitadi district for their settlements.

The application has been opened for landless Dalit, landless squatters and those residing in unmanaged settlements in six local levels in the district.

Issuing the 35-day notice recently, the Commission has asked the landless people to submit the applications to their respective ward offices in a prescribed format.

District chairperson of the Commission, Dharmasingh Ayer, shared that application has been called from this target groups in Melauli municipality, Patan municipality, Purchaudi municipality, Shivanath rural municipality, Sigas rural municipality and Surnaya rural municipality.

Application is already called from those in Pancheshwor rural municipality while Dilashaini rural municipality, Dogada Kedar rural municipality and Dasarathchand municipality are left to ink agreement for resettlement of landless people, informed Ayer.

He pledged to take initiatives to resolve the issues relating to landless Dalit, landless squatters and those living in unmanaged settlements in public land.

Application has been opened for 38 local levels in seven hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province including six of Baitadi. (RSS)
