Palm oil worth Rs 41.6 billion exported from Nepal



KATHMANDU: Nepal has exported worth Rs 41.6 billion of palm oil in the fiscal year 2021/22.

According to the preliminary data of the Customs Department, palm oil occupies the second largest share of Nepal’s total exports.

Even though palm oil is not produced in Nepal, crude palm oil ranks 11th on the list of the country’s major imports.

Nepal has imported crude palm oil worth 39 billion 31 crore rupees.

Traders have been importing palm oil from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries and exporting it to India.
