TANAHU: The task of constructing two-lane of Dumre-Besisahar road is gaining momentum.
Information Officer at Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road Project Office Engineer, Puruswottam Adhikari shared the road construction has so far witnessed 35 percent work progress.
It includes construction of a drainage pipe of the road linking Lamjung and Tanahun districts, wall erection and side cutting related works.
A two-lane road from near Dumre Bazaar is being constructed as part of the road from Tanahun’s Dumre Bazaar to Lamjung.
The construction of two-lane road from Dumre Bazaar to Chambas is being expedited in the first phase.
Information Officer Adhikari said the newly-constructed road lane will be of 15 meter each with ‘Right of Way’ on both sides.
It is the Dumre-Besisahar road through which the locals of trans-Himalayan district Manang travel.
Residents of three districts will be directly benefitted after the completion of the two-lane road.
Locals complained that the road has turned to the sorry state of affairs when maintenance works were not carried out in a timely manner.
